CHRISTMAS AIN'T OVER YET

At least...as far as my office is concerned.
The RPN News Department just had its Christmas Party today.
More about it in next entries. :)

With my editor loves :)

Good thing it's still Christmassy here at the office...at least I could still get away with Christmas-related posts...Like the presents my sister and I gave to our family this year.

Instead of gifts...we organized the perfect CHRISTMAS DATE DAY for them. :)

December 26 Schedule of Activities
7:00 am WAKE UUUPPP!!!

Dad refuses to get up

8:00 am Breakfast at Pan De Amerikana

Ooops...the resto was closed on the 25th
So we ate at PANCAKE House in Katipunan

5 of 7 Agsaluds ordered beef tapa breakfast set

Too early for dessert! :)
10:00 am SHOPPING!!!

We gave each shopping allowance so they could buy what they REALLY want and not what we think they want. :)

There were rules though:
1. Only P500 could be saved. The rest should be used to buy stuff for yourself. NOTE: For yourself. The allowance could not be used to buy items for the house or for gifts.
2. Unused allowance will be returned.
3. There will be inspection of purchases at home.

No...we're not on a foreign trip...

just at SM Megamall

The kiddos shopped together

One big LEGO truck...*sigh* I want to bring it HOME!!!

Fitting room adventures

First Forever 21 purchase, SHADES!!!

12:00 nn Lunch at a resto of the Birthday girl's choice

Birthday girl, Maan, chose French Baker
Ma, is that another pose of mine?!
3:00 pm Movie Marathon at home with tons of imported chips, dips, coke, cake!!!

the pre-movie marathon scene..preparing our surprise cake
care of Steph for Maan...
Our newly purchased cam, however, died on us...DANG!
We definitely exceeded our budget...
I can feel my pockets complaining.
BUT NO WORRIES :)
Having one perfect Christmas Date Day for the first time with my loved ones is a cost I'm willing to shoulder anytime.

IN SEARCH FOR THE PERFECT COSTUME

No...it's not yet Halloween...
but Yes...I am in search for the perfect costume for the post-Christmas/Costume party of RPN9 Reporters this Thursday.

Gosh. I've never been the type to exert too much effort on these events.
Not because I don't want to though...
...probably been too busy with other stuff or too lazy to look for THE COSTUME or just too thrifty to spend for costumes I will only use for a few hours.
Whatever my reasons were back then...the bottom line is...
I WILL JOIN ONE ON THURSDAY!
Good luck!

Determined to find the perfect costume...I went to a thrift store today...the first in months!!!
While I didn't find what I was looking for...I did discover some hidden treasures!

scarves in vintage and leopard prints

Polkadot flowy top

short silky dress
Just to give a moral lesson to this entry...this adventure only proves that indeed, someone's trash is someone else's treasure.
In this case, MY TREASURE :D

Don't you just love scarves?

DIY Headpiece :)
And oh...I did find the perfect dress for the perfect role on Thursday.
It was right there in front of me...just hanging on one neglected clothes rack at home.

LIFE is GOOD.
GOD is GREAT.
Can't waaaaiiiitttt!!!! Pin It Now!

LOOKIE WHAT I GOT FOR CHRISTMAS

Yes...stuff I could actually see and touch and smell!!! :)

All I wanted for Christmas was guidance...remember?
But I think God said, "Child, why so serious?"

So lookie what I got instead...
Things that I've forgotten I need and want! :)

Knee-high boots from balikbayans, Anna and Alex...
I NEED THEM!!! DON'T ASK ME WHY! :p

Cleats that actually work from my Ma and Pa! *Lol* Lost my cleats months ago.
It was my first pair and I got it from Nike's kids section.
Gosh. All I could say is...it was not made for competitive frisbee!

Also got a couple of branded bags and accessories from friends and family. :)
Not the type who buys expensive-bordering-on-illogical things but since they're gifts...I'm not complaining! :)

My sisters, Selia and Jeng

My Ma and Pa

Our youngest and one&only boy, Kuya Mark, shows off our gifts with Selia
More details of our family gift in another entry :)

Maan's birthday, December 26

Noticed the poses of my family...they just love making
fun of my pout! :)

And oh...I bought new digital camera for my family...
So these blurry, pixelized, low quality pictures...say goodbye to them soon! :)

SEE....
God knows what I need more...now...
I'm really happy...
THANK YOOOOUUUU!!! :)

NO HOLIDAY BREAK

People who are in the news, like me, have no holiday breaks.
Fire still happen...passengers still get stranded...people still want to know the latest price updates even on Christmas Day.

News Desk for the Day
Task -- Do the unfortunate duty of deploying people on coverages on the day
they should be enjoying their breaks...

To cope...we started our Christmas celebration early with a boodle fight!

Ready...

Get set...

GO!

Menu: Grilled Eggplant and fish with bagoong, rice soaked in sardines

Since I was the one who deployed the teams...
I only ate after they arrived.

I'm not sure in other countries but here in the Philippines, we don't use utensils in boodle fights.

But while the Holidays may be bitter reminders that we are among the few in the country who do not enjoy breaks...
The season is still a period to look forward to.
It's the time of the year when even friends from far off places travel distances just to be with you during the holidays.

Get together with the balikbayans, Anna and Alex (Left most)

Don't you just love Christmas?! :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY !!!

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS

...is clarity.

All my life...I've always been the girl who could be good in almost everything...
Good but not GREAT!
I am sporty. I could carry a tune and a beat. I am creative. I do well in class.
Always among the top but never on top.

Varsity, Lawn Tennis, University of the Philippines, Diliman (2000-2005)
...and yes, I'm the girl in the pink tutu dress

Frisbee Player, Circuswengwengbengbengbeng
Philippine Ultimate Association (2009-2010)

Videoke Adventure with Anna and Lauren

POPJUNKLOVE's Creations

My blog is a clear example.
I do political stories since I am a reporter.
I do business/craft-related entries since I am a struggling entrepreneur.
I even do outfit posts sometimes since I'M IN LOVE...IN LOVE...IN LOVE WITH FASHION.

with other RPN9 Reporters, Steph, Viv & Phoebe

ISKRAMBOL errands in Divisoria
Dress: Get Laud
Shoes: Janilyn
Bag, Accessories: My mom's treasure chest

Yeah. I know.
I've heard and read it all before.

An individual "must focus on one objective or tactic.
He must only want to do one thing.
Everything else is a strategy on how to get that one tactic done...
Companies that used the single tactic-multiple strategy type of planning were companies that won in business."
-Robert Kiyosaki, "Before You Quit Your Job"

I agree 210%!!!
I just can't seem to get on just one single track.
I am very competitive.
I love challenges.
This probably explains why I have a tendency to do EVERYTHING!

"The great Sufi poet and philosopher Rumi once advised his students
to write down the three things they most wanted in life.
If any item on the list clashes with any other item...
Rumi warned, you are destined for unhappiness.
Better to live a life of single-pointed focus."

-Elizabeth Gilbert, "Eat Pray Love"

Giftwrapped my head just to annoy Dale...I LOVE IT! :)

I am not unhappy because I believe happiness is a choice.
BUT I DO WANT TO BE GREAT...
For Christmas, I want guidance from above.
For New year, I want to know what I really want.

You guys know what you want already this Christmas and in life?
If yes, I am so happy for you.
All of us deserve to be happy. :)

WASTED HOURS

5 hours and still no sign of the senator who holds the distinction of being the first in the Philippines to win a senatorial election while in jail.

His appeal for a temporary liberty pending his amnesty application was granted by the court the other day after more than 7 years in prison.

He's currently facing rebellion charges for attempts to overthrow the previous administration.

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV when he filed his certificate of candidacy

12 noon and the heat was unbearable.
Food deliveries came and went for the fortunate ones inside the house with the senator.
Our only consolation...all members of the media were outside.
Not one of us got in to enjoy an exclusive on top of a possible free lunch.

Outside the house of Senator Antonio Trillanes IV

3pm.
"Shade! Finally!"
Then...came the rain...

"Is 15 minutes too much?
He could just wave at us for video purposes.
That's the least he could do.
We've been here for more than 5 hours!"
I was just ranting in my head, of course.

Sought refuge inside the crew cab with Juliet of Net 25

"Hello. Good afternoon, Sir.
Is there any chance we could interview the senator today?"
That's the actual conversation.

"We would like to apologize," the senator's attorney said.
"We understand that your requests are reasonable.
While he could easily grant them, he's making a stand.

After 7 years and 5 months in prison, he wants to show his family that...
...ON THIS DAY...THEY ARE HIS NO. 1 AND ONLY PRIORITY."

Never mind the heat, the rain, the hunger...and the wasted hours.
HOW COULD ANYONE BE ANGRY AFTER THAT?

My presence is my present? :) *lol*
I even giftwrapped my head for you guys! Look!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYBODY!
Wishing you and your family a Merry Happy Christmas. :)
