...true...but not my favorite quotable quote on LOVE.
It seems to be one of the favorites though back when I was a kid and slam books were must-haves.

So that's where the term "slam" came from...I didn't know that.
Here in the Philippines, slam books and autograph books are the same. They pertain to
notebooks with a set of  basic, quirky questions to be answered by friends.

Today, I'm going to answer a slam book-like entry courtesy of the uber crafty, Meream, who tagged me in her post.  And, just to be clear, when I said slam book...I was pertaining to the wholesome version. :)

Why did you create the blog?

...because being a big shot reporter is never part of my vision. I don't want to lose my voice though so just to make my transition to a full time businesswoman a lot easier...I created this virtual venue for my thoughts.

What kind of blogs do you follow?

Mostly, I follow fashion bloggers because I find them really creative. Most of them are into crafts and I get a lot of cool ideas from people who could turn a rug-like piece into a must-have accessory. I am also a frustrated fashion blogger although I doubt I could be one. I don't think I'm photogenic enough for that. :D

top: multi-wrap
pants: "Next" jeans
shoes: parisian

Favorite make-up brand?

Max factor, Revlon and Maybelline...although I think I could easily fall in love with other brands if only I could afford them.

Favorite clothing brand?

I'm not really into clothing brands since I rarely get to spend for myself being a bread winner in the family. Thrift shop finds and cheap but pretty pieces are enough to make me happy.

Our sincere thanks to Get Laud for sponsoring
the clothes of RPN Reporters.

Your indispensable make-up product?

Bare Escentuals mineral foundation. It cost me P4k but it was worth it. I haven't bought a foundation for more than a year now. The one I bought last year is still half full. :)

Your favorite color?

I look good in neutrals but if I could use bright colors at work without fear of judgment from some not-so-understanding colleagues, I'd go for splashes of hot pink and yellow.

Goofing around with other RPN9 Reporters
in our newly acquired bright, not-so-pretty looking raincoats

 Your perfume?

Kenzo L'eau Par. :D I super love Body Shop's Moonflower perfume but they phased it out already. Boohoo.

Your favorite film?

I'm not really good at remembering my favorite song, my favorite book or any of my favorite stuff. Top of my head-- Blind Side and Coach Carter. :)

What country would you like to visit and why?

ROMA, The Heavenly City. I don't think I need to explain why. :D

Write the last question and answer it yourself.

Love is patient.
Love is kind.
It does not envy.
It does not boast.
It is not proud.
It is not rude.
It is not self-seeking.
It is not easily angered.
It keeps no record of wrong doing.
It does not delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth.
It always protects, trusts, hopes, perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13)

So you see, LOVE, for me, is more than just blind. :D

I'M BACK!!! :D

...unfortunately not from Clark, Angeles City where this year's international ultimate tournament was held...I had to miss this one because I had three booths in two separate bazaars operating on the same weekend. Boohoo.

...which brings me back to my title...

Yipee!!! :D

I already told you pretty much where I was over the weekend so here are just a few snapshots of moments that made my break from the blogging world a little more bearable.

Learning more business tips with three other future billionaires...

Enjoying a short break with my Iskrambol business partner, Stephanie Ongkiko

Posing with Iskrambol's newest fan

I asked my other sisters to supervise our Popjunklove booth so I was unable to take pictures of my activities involving my other love.

But just to prove I have not prioritized one over the other...here's a picture of my desk days before our bazaars.

That's my officemate's desk :D Here's mine. NO LAUGHING. :p

I have seen a lot of "What does your office desk say about you" entries and I honestly have given up on efforts aimed at finding out which group I belong to.

No matter.
I'm here, I'm back and I'M HAPPY. :D

That's what matters most, right? :)

Remember my entry on being a craft addict...well, I discovered another addiction today.
"Hi, I'm Roma Agsalud and I'm an ISKRAMBOL addict."

ISKRAMBOL (n) A Filipino dessert, flavored shaved ice usually
topped with milk and chocolate syrup

Sorry, I promise...this is not another plug.
I just wanted to share how I discovered this new found problem of mine. Here goes --

I was walking in a market in Quiapo when I found THIS!!!!

TANAAAAAH!!!! Measuring cups!!!
I bought not just one...but TWO...Yes, you read it right. TWO CHEAP BUT WONDERFUL, AMAZING SETS OF MEASURING CUPS!

I'm so excited. Can't wait to make more iskrambol and measure, measure, measure them to my heart's delight.

It's so easy to make me happy these days.
Imagine... Happiness from something so ordinary... :D

Christmas is, indeed, in the air.
I could already feel it. Hear it. And see it.

"Deck the halls with boughs of holly, FA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA-LA"

Mom's version of white christmas

Mini-Santas invade our garden

For those already making their Christmas lists, there's one very good reason why you need to check out POPJUNKLOVE products....

Popjunklove in Miriam College's 2010 Fair

So if you're a father, a mother, a sister, a brother, an aunt, an uncle, a grandpa, a grandma, a classmate, a cousin or a friend...this is the shop for you. :)

I know, I know...this is another shameless plug. But hey, if it could help make Christmas a little less stressful for some, why not? :D

To all students of Miriam College, thank you for making POPJUNKLOVE's three-day visit a success!
'Til our next invasion.

Hugs and kisses. :D Pin It Now!

My sister and I have noticed a surge in craftsters offering bottle cap rings and necklaces to the young and young at hearts in recent bazaars. Way back, we purchased one from Junk Studio, one of the pioneers of the bottle cap mania in the Philippines.

This is the exact design we purchased.
(Picture grabbed from Junk Studio)
Since then, a number of craftsters has found a way to give bottle caps their own personal twists.

From vintage-style necklaces...

To happy, more colorful ones...

...indeed, bottle caps have come a long way from their initial purpose of just helping preserve our favorite drinks.

I'm sure there are still millions of bottle caps out there, rotting away in our waste bins so we've decided to join others in their upcycling efforts.

Let's collect those disposed bottle caps! :D Recycle!

After much thought, my sister and I went for the caps' original designs. Vintage and already colorful without much effort, these bottle caps have officially joined the roster of our other upcycled creations! :D

Click here to order or inquire. :D
Check out our bottle cap babies for yourselves on November 26-28. POPJUNKLOVE will be in Alabang and Rockwell on the said dates. See you there! :D

The Versatile Blogger Award: 7 Tidbits about Roma is Love

First of all...
Maraming Salamat (Thank you)...
Gracie (Thank you)...
Arigato Gozaimas (Thank you)...
Danke Shon (Thank you)...

...to Ric also known as RicAdemus for giving me THIS...

Ric told me to share stuff about myself if handed this recognition. Since I'm just new to all these blogging-related activities,  I'll just be a good soldier. :)

Here are 7 Random Tidbits about myself as requested:

1. I just found out today that "Tidbit"could mean --

So just to make it clear, tidbits I'm sharing here are not gossip. :D

2. I have two major WHAT IFs in my life. First, what if I pursued dancing in college rather than tennis? What would my life be like right now?

Trying out Anna's vintage tennis rackets

Second, what if I pursued only one foreign language in my four years in college rather than take a different one every year? Would this have increased my chances of traveling around the world?

3. I believe in "The Secret". Good attracts good...so if you're grumpy, you'll find me irritatingly happy.

4. I love feeling tired. For me, body pains tell me if I've been productive for the day.

A movie marathon wouldn't be complete if I'm not doing any do-it-yourself-related activity

5. Don't be surprised if you find a girl in heels and in a gown-like ensemble, on the floor of a bookstore, reading. That's probably me! I could live in bookstores!

My current companion when I'm bored
6. A fire razed our house several years back. I froze and cried. I was utterly useless compared to my younger sister who ran outside and cried for help. I wonder if I'm good with pressure now considering I'm a reporter who has to beat deadlines everyday.
One update day

7. RO-MA came from "Roy", my father and "Marietta", my mother. When I was a child, I used to make up stories about my name. I used to tell my friends that it came from "Amor" (Love) just to make it more romantic. Well, it might not be true then but it is now -- Roma is LOVE, yes, that's me. :D

There's currently an ongoing debate on whether to stick with "WOW Philippines" or launch the newly proposed tourism slogan, "Pilipinas Kay Ganda" (Philippines, So Beautiful!).

I have yet to decide which side I'm on but I just wanted to share what I found out today.
Sorry, some of you may already know this but here goes...

WOW doesn't just stand for the expression of utter astonishment. WOW in the slogan also stands for some of the amazing things tourists could do and see in the Philippines.

Walls On Water
Warm Over Winter

World Of Within

Taal Volcano

Wacko Over Wildlife
Walk Our Walls

Witness Our Ways

Aren't these genius?!!!
Sorry if this is so old news for some of you but for me, it still a...

"WOW!" :D
Go visit the Philippines! It really is a beautiful place!

I don't like putting my hair up.
I swear...I look like a guy and I ABSOLUTELY hate it.
But look, I had it up for days...

My tube top fails to compensate for my lack of hair...
I still look like a guy...

My partner, Stephanie Ongkiko, hates putting up her hair as well

*sigh*...the things I endure for my businesses.

Mom's advice: Always put hair net on if you're handling food
Roma: (Putting up my hair...THAT I could live with but HAIRNET!!?? Sorry. That one I can't handle)
Iskrambol ni Juan at Maria will be in Rockwell again next week, Nov26-28 12nn-12am

My sacrifices were worth it though because we were immediately rewarded for our efforts.
Last Saturday, we sold out our Iskrambol*.
The bazaar's up to 12 midnight. We closed shop at around 9pm.

Cappuccino, Chocolate, Strawberry

What's left of our Iskrambol mixes

Empty containers so early in the evening

To all those who supported and love POPJUNKLOVE and Iskrambol ni Juan at Maria...
You are the reason why we still do what we do despite the many hardships like putting our hair up.
